What is Android? Short Brief Details

Android is a well-known Open Source Operating System for tablet & mobile devices. Android Operating System is based on Linux OS, and on top of that, it adds up source code known as AOSP ( Android Open Source Project ), and this code is licensed under the Apache License. Android comes with pre-installed apps called GMS ( Google Mobile Services ) because Android is owned by Google. Under GMS, Google provides its products like Google Message, YouTube, Google, Google Play Store, Google Maps, Google Photos, Google Chrome Browser, Gmail, Drive, etc.

Android was started in October 2003 by Andy Rubin, Rich Miner, Nick Sears, and Chris White at Palo Alto, California, and was officially launched in November 2007. California, Mountain View is also the headquarters of Google.
The first to use the Android operating system commercially was HTC Dream.

Which Kernel Do Android Uses?

The Android is the family of Unix-like Operating System and thus uses Linux kernel because Linux is also a Unix-like free open-source Operating System which on top of that is Android built-in.

In which language is Android OS written?

The android operating system is written on Java for UI, C for Core Components, C++, and others for other functionality.

In which hardware Android runs on?

Android runs on 32bit and 64bit of ARM, RISC V, x86, x86-64 architecture processors. But ARM processors are most common nowadays.

In which devices are Android available?

Android OS is available for tablets, mobile devices, wearing devices, and nowadays, it even runs on x86 PCs.
