Vivo new Technology and Features Overview.
Vivo has launched the X60 series smartphone. Last year’s X50 series was a success. This time Vivo has improved in certain areas and has brought some cool new features.
Just like Xiaomi Vivo also brings something new innovative to its flagship products. Last year the X50 series has Gimbal Stabilization System built into the camera. Gimbal Stabilization performs better than the traditional EIS and OIS in video Stabilization.
This time they have implemented a new technology with the camera and that is Pixel Shifting. Pixel Shift is a new technology that can improve smartphone cameras and bring a revolution to the Smart camera industry. This time they have also a partnership with Zeiss lens company.
But What is Pixel Shift anyway? – What Is Pixel Shift Technology?
If we look at the digital cameras, the sensors are made of Pixels arranged in a Bayer pattern. A Bayer pattern is made of Red Green and Blue pixels. In some sort, they can be called RGB. Each pixel has multiple sub-pixels with different colors, a single pixel on a sensor sees only one color. So they are arranged in a way that can mimic the original real-life colors and pictures.
They are arranged in a checkboard pattern. Just like black and white checkboxes the sensor has RGB checkboxes. So basically the pattern stays the same forever. But with Pixel Shift the Bayer pattern can also be shifted and can be rearranged to get 100% coverage of the color channels of the image.
Normally, the Color channel Coverage of an image is 50% Green and 25% Red and Blue combined. So there is a 25% gap left. You may think why the Green channel has more coverage because the human eye can perceive Green color more than the Red and Blue color. But with Pixel-Shift technology, this gap can be filled and cover 100% of the channel Coverage of the image.
